Emily Greenwood

Emily graduated from Buchanan High School in 2009, where she was a three-time TRAC and CIF Valley Champion in water polo, and a four-time All-American in both swimming and water polo. In 2009, she was Buchanan High School’s Athlete of The Year. Emily led Diablo Water Polo Club to back-to-back 2nd place US Open finishes (2011 & 2012). Emily went on to play for UCLA from 2009-2013, earning a number accolades; All-MPSF Freshman Team (2010), two-time MPSF Champion, leader in drawn ejections and drawn penalties (2012), All-NCAA Tournament team (2012), and ACWPC All-American (2012). She graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in History. In 2006, Emily was named to the USA Future National Team and the 2007 USA Cadet National Team. Emily was a member of the Junior National Team from 2008-2011, and competed in two Junior World Championships (2009 – 3rd place, 2011 – 9th place, Team Captain).From 2010 – 2012 Emily was a member of the USA Senior Training Team. Emily concluded her water polo career playing professionally in the FINA Italian Pallanuoto League for three years – Blu Team Catania (2013-2014) and Orizzonte EKIPE (2014-2016). In the summers of 2013, 2014, and 2015; she was the volunteer assistant boys coach at Buchanan High School. Emily has spent three years as the assistant girls coach for Harvard-Westlake School (2013, 2016, 2017). Currently, Emily coaches the ODP Developmental team (Coastal Zone) and is the head girls coach for LA Premier Water Polo Club (High School Girls, 14&U Girls, and 12&U Girls). Most recently, in September of 2017, Emily was named the Head Coach of Girls’ Water Polo at Harvard-Westlake School.
